There have been some terrible stories in the news recently about foreign drivers causing deaths on UK roads.
And whilst proposal have been published which would see foreign drivers, who break UK road rules, facing fines and the immobilisation of their vehicles, the punitive route is not the only solution.
"At E-Training World we are passionate about road safety", said Jonathan Mosley, director of sales & marketing, "and we feel there is a great deal more that the Government could be doing to make foreign drivers become safer drivers in the UK, rather than just penalise them in line with UK licence holders.
"In our view, education is key and we'd like to see high profile video and poster campaigns at ports, on ferries, on the channel tunnel and in motorway services - all targeted at educating foreign drivers about safe driving in the UK. Similar to the speed awareness courses for offending drivers, we'd also like to see some form of UK familarisation training enforced for any foreign driver who causes an offence and makes frequent trips into the country."
If you have views on how we can improve the driving standards of foreign drivers visiting the UK, we'd be pleased to hear from you.
E-Training World plays an important role in lobbying for improved road safety and your comments would be extremely valuable to us.
