E-Training World Launches Cycling Awareness Training Module
24/01/2014

E-Training World has launched a new online driver training module on the topic of ‘cyclist awareness’. The module, which is aimed at drivers of cars, vans, HGVs and other vehicles, provides advice regarding safe driving near cyclists.

“Cyclists are very vulnerable on our roads,” said Jonathan Mosley, E-Training World’s sales and marketing director, “and they are reliant on the attitudes and behaviours of drivers who they share the road with.

“As a driver training specialist, we are not here to advise cyclists on how to ride their bikes as there are many organisations better equipped than us to do that. But as a company that specialises in educating drivers we have a role in ensuring they play their part in making the roads safer for cyclists.

“Last year saw a number of cyclist fatalities in London, yet accidents can be avoided through a number of simple, but effective techniques, as well as increased awareness.

“Our web based training module helps drivers learn best practice and to alter their driving around cyclists. It also helps them become more aware of the different challenges faced by those on bicycles whether on rural or city roads.”
