E-Training World Wins Contract To Provide Driver Risk Assessments for Towergate Underwriting, Transportation

E-Training World, the specialist provider of online driver risk assessment and e-driver training solutions, has been appointed by Towergate Underwriting to provide a commercial vehicle risk assessment solution for its insurance policies.

The contract was won after a competitive pitch and was secured thanks to the accuracy of E-Training World’s risk ratings and the company’s flexibility in meeting Towergate’s needs.

“We tested a number of online risk assessment options”, said Andrew Evans, managing director or Towergate Risk Solutions, “and felt that E-Training World’s solution was the best fit for our clients’ needs”.

“Trialling their system against other leading providers, we felt that the e-training world package would have more credibility with commercial vehicle drivers than many other systems in the marketplace, and we were also pleased with their willingness to be flexible and genuinely meet our needs.

“Many of our customers are self-employed commercial vehicle drivers and have little access to the Internet, because of the time they spend behind the wheel. We therefore needed a method of making sure they could conduct the risk assessment without needing a computer

“ E-Training World provided us with a number of different versions of their online assessment in hardcopy booklet form. This is fully branded in our own Towergate corporate style and posted to the drivers, who answer the questions in the booklet at home or while they are taking a break from driving, and return it to us to score. Drivers therefore have the option to choose whether they conduct the 15 minute assessment online or using the hardcopy version.

“We then use this information to identify their risk rating and this provides both the customer and Towergate Underwriting with significant benefits.

“Quite simply, by enabling us to assess the level of risk each driver poses, we can offer enhanced insurance benefits, or provide them with driver training in order to qualify for improved terms once that training is complete. And if a driver requires training, E-Training World’s assessment system automatically provides us with a tailored training programme, telling us where their weaknesses are, so that the training is pertinent to the requirements of that particular person”.

Graham Hurdle, managing director of E-Training World added, “We are delighted to be working with an insurance company of the size and stature of Towergate. The provision of online driver risk assessments and e-driver training is a fast-growing area and this appointment confirms our ability to quickly and accurately assess car and commercial driver risk is second to none.

“Our online risk assessment and e-driver training solutions are based upon more than 20 years of providing driver training in the car and commercial vehicle fleet sectors, and have been designed by qualified fleet driver trainers, representatives from the emergency services and members of key road safety groups.

“We are finding that the popularity of our systems is borne from the fact that they provide a robust and interactive replica of traditional in-vehicle assessment and training, making them an online representation of a tried and trusted approach”.
