New HGV Driver Profiling System Enjoys Strong Feedback

E-Training World’s new driver risk assessment system for HGV drivers is receiving outstanding feedback from transport managers and vocational drivers.

The system, dedicated to HGVs, assesses risk across four key categories of attitude, knowledge, concentration & observation, and hazard perception.

The twenty minute online assessment gives drivers an immediate high, medium and low risk rating plus an indication of where their strengths and weaknesses lie for training purposes.

“We’re thrilled with the response to our new HGV system,” said Graham Hurdle, managing director of E-Training World.

“In one pilot study of HGV drivers, 100 per cent said they would recommend it to their colleagues, and three quarters said they were extremely satisfied with it as a commercial vehicle assessment tool.”

The system covers all aspects of HGV driving including areas such as working hours, tachographs and vehicle checks and is based on the same risk assessment format as E-Training World’s award winning car and van system.

“We were one of the companies to pioneer web-based driver profiling systems a decade ago,” said Graham, “ and this new HGV system is based on the tried and tested format that has been accurately assessing risk for all those years.

“As a knowledge and skills system, there are also no psychometric questions involved which drivers seem to prefer because they understand why questions are being asked and what is expected from them throughout the assessment.

“The system also uses plenty of images and drivers said they really enjoyed the process.”
